Ivan W. Evans

Ivan W. Evans was born April 26, 1925, near Bessie, OK, and passed away November 25, 2023 in Yukon, OK. He married Erma June Sallee on April 26, 1944, and then left for WWII. Returning home, he graduated from OSU and became a teacher at Okeene, OK, where his only child, Mark Forrest was born. He worked as a teacher and principal at Lone Wolf, Hobart, and Clinton, Okla. until 1964, when he became an executive with the OSSAA and helped regulate secondary school activities across the state. He retired in 1988. Ivan and Erma moved to Spanish Cove in Yukon in 2000 and lived the remainder of their lives there, totally in love forever. Ivan is survived by his son Mark; grandsons, Hunter and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Addison, Kyler, and Easton; granddaughter-in-law, Megan Nettles, and Mark's fiancé, Marian Buswell. Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
