Jack Allen Massey

Jack Allen Massey, 86, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on February 7, 2025.

Jack was born in Geary, Oklahoma, on July 29, 1938, to parents Clifford and Marie Massey. He grew up and lived on a farm in Calumet, Oklahoma, with his sister Jean, where they went to a one-room country school, but he went on to graduate from Hinton Public Schools. After high school, Jack joined the United States Air Force, and later, he graduated from Southwestern State College with a degree in business administration.

In 1980, Jack married Linda Kaye Massey and became stepfather to Lori and Melissa before having two sons of his own, Michael and Steven. Jack worked as a tax accountant and later retired from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, but even after retirement, his work was not done, as he and Linda still operated A Touch of Class Weddings up until her passing in 2006. In 2007, he remarried Gretchen Parsons, but sadly, he was widowed again early in 2020.

Jack's work ethic could not be challenged. Even when he wasn't working, Jack would be working on his garden at home. He also enjoyed watching various TV shows and movies, watching the Oklahoma City Thunder play, going to the casino, collecting vintage coins and classic model cars, listening to music on vinyl records, and even (as of recently) was making plans to do some fishing when the weather got warmer. He loved sitting outside on nice days and trying new restaurants (although he didn't care for anything too exotic or spicy).

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda Kaye Massey, and wife Gretchen Parsons; he is survived by his son Steven Massey, son Michael Massey, daughter Melissa Ingram, daughter Lori Nowlin, son-in-law Michael Nowlin, grandson Blaze Nowlin, grandson Skylar Ingram, sister Jean Beverly, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He may not have been a man of many words, but he had a lot of love for his family. In his final moments, he was surrounded by loved ones. Without a doubt, he will be missed, but his life and memory will be blessings that will endure long after this day.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK.
