Jack D. Salisbury

Jack D. Salisbury, 88, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026.

Jack was born on October 11, 1937, in Elk Creek, Missouri, to Woody and Susie Salisbury. He shared 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joy Lee Murray Salisbury.

Jack was a skilled backhoe operator who founded Jack’s Backhoe Service in 1965. In 1976, he expanded his business by purchasing a boring machine and establishing S & S Road Boring. Through hard work and determination, he built a respected business and provided for his family for many years.

After retiring, Jack and Joy returned to Missouri, where they enjoyed raising cattle and the slower pace of country life. Jack also had a passion for fishing, collecting vintage firearms and cast-iron skillets.

Jack is survived by his son, Jackie Salisbury and wife, Darla; his son, Kenny Salisbury and wife, Susan; his daughter, Bonny Harwell and husband, Randy; his niece, Suzanne Murray McElroy and husband, David. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Angie, Doug, and Ella Kennon; Ryan, Rachel, Oliver, and Gwendolen Davis; Stormey Warner; Morgan Warner and Devante Jackson; Cyrus, Sayer, Marcellus, and Marci Jackson; and Meagan and Jared McElroy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy Salisbury, his parents, Woody and Susie Salisbury, and his siblings Betty, Joyce, Bruce and Bob.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of River Oaks Skilled Nursing Center and the Good Shepherd Hospice team for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Jack during his final days.

A remembrance of Jack’s life will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, Oklahoma on Friday, July 24, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
