Jan Truman

Jan Truman, 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother of four and a cherished Nana to many, Jan loved her family beyond measure and spent her life caring for those she loved. Jan was born on March 21, 1951 in Montgomery, West Virginia.

Jan had a special gift for making people feel welcomed and cared for. She loved cooking and was always collecting new recipes, often surprising family and friends with delicious meals made from the heart. She was also a talented quilter whose creations reflected the warmth, creativity, and love she poured into everything she did.

When family and friends were asked to describe Jan in a single word, the responses painted a beautiful picture of the woman she was: endearing, peacemaker, precious, loving, joyful, kind, warm, creative, caring, thoughtful, funny, country, singer, empathetic, nurturer, and devoted. These words capture only a glimpse of the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her.

While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice knowing that Jan is singing and celebrating in Heaven with Daddy, her love for life, and the many family members who went before her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Truman; her son-in-law, Mike, her parents, Velda and Wallace Morris; and her siblings Carl, Wallace, Mildred, Lloyd, Doris, Verla, Dolly, Dennis, Donald, Dallas, and Kenny.

She is survived by her siblings Delmas, Jean, and Rhonda; her children Ray, Stacy, Tammy, and Michael; her son-in-law, Dan, her grandchildren Holly, Bryce, Cameron, Cole, Drew, Rylan, Emily, and Jude; great-grandchildren Demi, Junior, and Kennedy, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2026 at Crossings Mayfair, 2340 N.W. 50th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112, with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
