Janet Marlene Chappelear

Janet Marlene Chappelear, age 77, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. Her bright smile, which truly lit up every room she entered, and her unmistakable laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Born on April 19, 1949 in Berkeley, California, Janet grew up in the beautiful Bay Area of California. Throughout her life, her journeys took her to live in California, South Carolina, and Oklahoma, making friends and leaving a lasting impression wherever she went.

It was during her time working for Greyhound that Janet met the true love of her life, Ronald "Ronnie" Chappelear. The two shared a beautiful life filled with deep devotion and cherished memories until his passing on Veterans Day in 2025.

Janet had an incredible sense of humor and appreciated a good, hearty laugh above all else. She loved the simple pleasures of life, from watching gripping mystery shows to unwinding with a great comedy special. She had a wonderful eye for style, always enjoying a bit of blingy jewelry and the pampering of getting her hair and nails done.

Some of her happiest times were spent by the ocean at Surfside, South Carolina, alongside Ronnie, listening to the music they loved and enjoying the coastal breeze together.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her devoted husband, Ronnie.

Her legacy of love and laughter lives on through her family: her stepchildren, Dawn, Ron Keith, and Blaine; her grandchildren, Austin and spouse Kylie, Nick and spouse Haylie, Jace and companion Ashley, and Brianna; her great-grandchildren, Aria and Brinley; her brother, Steve; and her stepsisters, Robin, Debbie, and Celia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, Oklahoma.
