Janet Ann Fikan

Janet Ann Fikan, 76, of El Reno, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Janet was born on November 6, 1948, in Goodland, Kansas, to Raymond and Esther Studer. She grew up in Alamosa, Colorado, and graduated from Alamosa High School in 1966. In December of 1985, she married the love of her life, Lyle D. Fikan, in Mesa, Arizona. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and business ventures. They lived in Brewster, Kansas, where they owned an Aerial Spraying Company, before moving to Atwood, Kansas, where they purchased and operated Fikan Motor Company.

In 1998, Janet and Lyle relocated to Mustang, Oklahoma, before settling in El Reno, Oklahoma. Janet worked for Farmers Insurance Company for 10 years before retiring. Janet had a deep passion for life, enjoying golfing and spending time traveling south during the winter months.

Janet was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Studer; mother, Esther Studer; brother, Keith Studer; husband, Lyle Fikan; and son, Derick Studer.

She is survived by her sister, Jeanie Studer; brothers, Raymond Studer and wife Julie, John Studer, Marvin Studer and wife Anita, Larry Studer, and Danny Studer; as well as 12 nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, Kansas, on January 17, 2025. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., under the direction of Father Henry Lone. Burial will follow at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.
