Janice "Jan" Kathryn Manning

Janice Kathryn Manning, affectionately known to family and friends as “Jan” peacefully passed away on July 9, 2026 at the age of 88.

Born on July 24, 1937, in Greenwood, South Carolina, Jan was the cherished daughter of the late Kinchen Warren Rambo and Pearl Katherine (Rhoden) Rambo. She spent much of her youth in South Carolina, graduating from Winyah High School in Georgetown before pursuing her passion for healthcare. Jan went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Radiology, establishing a fulfilling, lifelong career as a dedicated Radiology Technician.

Beyond her professional life, Jan was a woman of warm and quiet joys., She was an avid reader with a particular love for fiction, finding endless adventure and comfort within the pages of her books. Her hands were rarely still, often busy creating beautiful crochet pieces for those she loved. Above all, Jan possessed a gentle spirit and deep affection for animals, sharing a special, lifelong bond with her beloved cats, who brought immense comfort and companionship to her days.

Janice is survived by her brother, Warren Rambo and family; her two sons, Steven G. Loften and Sherard K. Manning and Cheryl Sharp, and her granddaughter, Alyssa Cazier and her husband Brendan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kinchen and Pearl Rambo; her sister, Gladys Alma Rambo, and her daughter, Judy Loften.

A service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
