Jerry Mueton Bostic

On Friday, March 3rd, 2023, Jerry Mueton Bostic was called home at the age of 75.  The world has lost a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jerry was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, on February 6th, 1948 to father Mueton Bostic and mother Wanda (Prather) Bostic. While growing up in Wynnewood, Jerry was a skilled football player and a member of the 1965 Wynnewood Savage State Championship Football Team.  During that same year, Jerry earned All-State honors and was named the Class B Defensive Lineman of the year.  After High School, Jerry would attend East Central University in Ada, OK to continue his career in football but a knee injury would soon end that career.  Following the completion of his football career, Jerry began his energy career with Amoco in West Columbia, Texas.  He was then transferred to Okeene, Oklahoma and would eventually retire after 24 years with Amoco.  Jerry then started a contract pumping business for the next few years until obtaining employment with British Petroleum in Ulysses Kansas.  Later he would transfer to the pipeline division with British Petroleum in Tulsa, Oklahoma until his retirement.

If you asked Jerry, his greatest accomplishment was not his football legacy or his career it was being a husband, father and grandfather. Jerry met his wife Carol Lynn Lofton through a mutual friend, and it was love at first sight. Their love grew to include Carol's young daughters Brigette and Amber. A few years later they married and had a son named Joe.

After Jerry's retirement, Jerry and Carol would settle in Yukon, Oklahoma.  Once in Yukon, Jerry enjoyed his passions in life which were spending time with family, friend and his Harley Davidson.

Jerry is survived by his wife Carol Bostic of Yukon, OK; daughter Brigette Bostic of Ada, OK; daughter Amber LaMascus and husband Mike of Sulphur, OK; son Joe Bostic and wife Terisa of Argyle, TX. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Clayton Entz, Grace McElhaney, and Bailey Bostic; brother Joe Bostic of Wynnewood, OK, and honorary brother Jasper Davis of Slaughterville, OK.

He was preceded in death by his father Mueton Bostic, mother Wanda Bostic, and sister Patricia (Bostic) LaMascus.

Join Jerry's family for a homegoing service on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 2 p.m. The service will be held at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W Vandament Avenue, Yukon, OK.
