Jerry Leroy Carter

Jerry Leroy Carter, age 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2024, with his family at his bedside.

Jerry attended Yukon Public Schools from first through twelfth grade, graduating in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in May of 1963. He was honorably discharged in May of 1969 as a Sergeant. In September of 1966, he met his future wife, Linda Candler. Linda and Jerry were married on March 24 of 1967. They cherished 57 years of marriage. Together, the two had one son, Jerry L. Carter II. Jerry loved being active in bowling, golf, racing, and riding motorcycles. He worked in retail sales and retired from Walmart after twenty years.

Jerry was preceded in death by both parents; sister Rebecca; and brother Sam.

He is survived by his wife Linda; son Jerry and wife Daelina; granddaughter Rylie Jordan Carter; siblings Judy Smith, John Carter, Brenda Hankins, Marilyn Ledbetter, Marcia Schmidt, and Teresa Cope; along with several nieces and nephews. A very special thanks goes to Sandy Sitter with Traditions Hospice Care for her excellent care and compassion for Jerry.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 P.M.
