Jerry Neal Maguffee

Jerry Neal Maguffee passed from this life on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home in Edmond, OK, at the age of 92, after 5 weeks on hospice and around the clock loving and dedicated care by his only son, Kevin. He was born October 13, 1930 in Williford, AR to Oscar Lee and Ieuka Ochessa Maguffee.

As a young boy he moved with his parents and 3 brothers to Oklahoma City. A 1948 graduate of Northwest Classen High School, Jerry married Mary Etta Hall in 1955 and started a family. They moved to Yukon in 1961 where they raised all their children, attending Yukon Public Schools. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp in Korea during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1952 as a Pvt, later becoming 100% disabled due to PTSD and frost bite. He and all three of his brothers were in the service at the same time, serving in different branches. He was also a Chosin Few and was a member of the VFW.

Jerry is survived by his five children:  daughter, Jeri Keith and husband Rick of Ardmore, OK; son, Kevin Maguffee of the home; daughter, Meri Maguffee of Oklahoma City; daughter, Keri Bailey of Lexington, OK, and daughter Marsha Goines of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary of 16 years and the mother of his first 4 children; parents, Oscar and Ike Maguffee; 3 brothers and their spouses:  Billy Jack and wife Pat, Bobby Lee and wife Inge, and Gary Joel (Bud) and wife Ellen; 2 grandchildren, Brian Joel Anthis and Lauren Whitney Totten, and nephews:  Billy Maguffee, Ron Maguffee, Phil Maguffee, Jim Maguffee and Dave Maguffee.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery where he will receive military honors.
