Jim Mowers

William James "Jim" Mowers, 73, was born January 4, 1952 in Colorado Springs, CO. He passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at his home in Yukon, OK.

William James, known as Jim, was a simple man who lived his life on his own terms. A minimalist by nature, he loved God and appreciated family and friends above all. He enjoyed collecting currency of all kinds, fixing and repairing clocks, repairing his grandchildren's toys, carpentry, gardening, feeding his birds, creating custom fairy light displays (and gifted most of them away), and enjoying an early morning sunrise.

Originally from Colorado, he moved to Yukon to be closer to his children and his grandchildren in 2001. He was employed with Yukon Public Schools until his retirement. Even though he was retired, he devoted time by volunteering to assist Parkland Elementary with their food donation service for the community.

In 2013, Jim married the former Toni Fountain and lived out the reminder of his life in Yukon. He is survived by his spouse, Toni Mowers, and his three children, Kretina Browne, Carolyn Johnson (and husband Adam) and grandchildren Mason and Colin Johnson, Mark Mowers, Sr., (and wife, Destiny) along with grandchildren Preston, Luke, Orion, Mark Jr. and Cooper, and stepson Brian Lutz (and wife Chantel) and grandchild Theodore. He is also survived by brothers Richard Mowers (and wife Ruth), Charles Mowers (and wife Donna), Peter Mowers (and wife Lee), sister Cindy Rauer (and husband Martin), brother Alan Mowers (and wife Sandra), sister Juleen Mowers-Pardini (and wife Gina), and brother Thomas Mowers (and wife Christina).

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carolyn Mowers of Colorado Springs, Co. In lieu of flowers, Jim would have appreciated gifts made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.

His life will be celebrated with private family services.
