John Craig Shinn

John Craig Shinn, 63, was born on January 5, 1961, in Oklahoma City, and passed away on July 6, 2024. Craig was the son of Kenneth and Lorena Shinn. He was raised and lived in Yukon, OK his entire life. He went to Yukon Schools and graduated from YHS in 1979. He attended Canadian Valley Vo-Tech and learned his lifelong trade of being a machinist. Craig was hard working, took pride in his work, and was a good provider for his family. Craig was known for cracking jokes and being an outstanding cartoonist. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, watching race car events, and his beloved cats. He met Ruthanne Dolezal in 1988 and they married on July 8, 1990. Together they had their only child, Kenneth Wayne, in 1991.

Craig was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Howard Shinn and Mamie Shinn Spangenberg and Wesley and Stella Boyles; parents Kenneth and Lorena Shinn; and cousin Karen Lankford.

Craig is survived by his wife Ruthanne and son, Kenny, of the home; sister Lori Woolf of Amarillo, TX; nephew Garrett Woolf and great-nephew Brenden Woolf of Easley, SC; nephew Sage Woolf and Jennifer Woolf and great-nieces, Saylor and Emma Woolf of Amarillo, TX; aunt Margaret Lankford of Norman, OK; and numerous cousins.

A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK. Lunch will be provided immediately following the service at Grace Church - Episcopal Church in Yukon, OK.
