Jon Austin Herd

Jon Austin Herd, widely known as Austin, was born in Oklahoma City, OK on January 30, 1988 to Sam Herd and Melissa Wakeley. Austin went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 27th, 2023.

Austin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Arlene Herd; grandfather, Carl Herd; uncle, Kevin Abbott and cousin, Benjamin Herd. He is survived by his father, Sam Herd of Blanchard, OK; mother, Melissa Wakeley and husband Kitt of Edmond, OK; sister, Lyndy Herd of Blanchard, OK; stepsister, Alex Weir of Stillwater, OK; stepsister, Nikki Wakeley of Edmond, OK; adopted siblings, Chris, KJ, and Ta'Nia Wakeley; grandparents, David and Judy Abbott of Trinidad, TX, and step-grandmother, Gayle Herd of Yukon, OK, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was loved by so many.

Austin graduated Salutatorian from Blanchard High School in 2008. He had a career as a Data Analyst and loved all sports and especially his Sooners. He will be greatly missed but remembered with so many memories and love.

A viewing will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, OK on Monday, February 6th from 2-8pm. Funeral services to honor his life will be held Tuesday, February 7th at 11am at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery. Any memorial contributions in honor of Austin can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
