Jonni Sue Fredrickson

Jonni Sue (Maditz) Fredrickson was born in Wichita, KS on November 9 ^th , 1956 to John and Gleneth Maditz. Being the 3 ^rd of 3 daughters and born on John's birthday, she became his namesake. She met the love of her life, Allan "David" Fredrickson, at college in Tulsa, OK and has always recounted the meeting as love at first sight .  They married in 1975 and shared many adventures until her death on March 25th, 2023

Her faith was strong, and she was courageous and outspoken in her Christian convictions. No one she knew could question her belief in Christ Jesus.

Jonni's children: Paul Fredrickson and Katie Holloway were always her priority and their best interests were always foremost in her thoughts and prayers. Her children and their spouses have given her 6 grandchildren and 2 grandsons-in-law. They were her pride and joy, and she was never happier than when they would all gather as a family.

Jonni and David were inseparable, and they had many adventures—traveling the country from coast to coast by motorcycle, motorhome, planes, trains, and automobiles. She was proud that they had visited 5 of the 7 continents and made friends wherever they went. Her friends and family enjoy reminiscing about all the shenanigans they got into.

Jonni had an artistic eye and a love for music. She played the bass violin in high school, through college, and picked it back up as an adult playing in the church orchestra. She took up and excelled at many art forms throughout her life. She enjoyed painting, making stained-glass pieces, creating ceramic artwork, and crafting needlework pieces. Many of these works of art won awards at the Oklahoma State Fair.

Valuing education, once her children were settled in school, she earned her bachelors and Masters from Southern Nazarene University. This dedication to education was passed down to her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, she gave back to her community in many ways—often centered around her love for children. She ran a home daycare, was a CampFire USA leader, taught Bible school, and tutored kids in math and reading through WizKidz. Her career in the 1980's involved advocating for victims of rape and domestic violence by strengthening laws and increasing victim protection. She was a ground breaker in victim advocacy and protection of those fleeing violence. She always focused on the less fortunate, providing encouragement and perspective to reach goals.

Jonni is loved and missed by all whose lives she touched, and in heaven she will be greeted by many grateful friends and family as she is embraced by her Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Metropolitan Bible Church, 7201 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
