Joseph Wayne Green

Joseph Wayne Green was born on February 1, 1937, in Peabody, Kansas, to the Reverend Walter and Marie Green. He went to be with Jesus in heaven on February 15, 2025, at the age of 88.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his daughter-in-law, Donella Green; and two siblings, Betty Bonham and Lois Fitts.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeff (and his wife Kristi) and Randy. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jessica Martin, Kyle Green, Todd Green, Jamy Morrell, Grant Green, Weston Green, and Erin Green, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. He is survived by three siblings: Esther Bell, David Green (and his wife Barbara), and James Green (and his wife Janice).

Joe served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1956, then in the Army Reserve from 1956 to 1958, and finally in the Air Force Reserve from 1958 to 1964.

Throughout his life, Joe held various jobs. As a child, he picked cotton, and later worked at Western Electric, TGY Stores, Greco/Hobby Lobby, and even started his own business selling weight loss supplements. He also served as a pastor.

Joe was known for his generosity, especially toward his siblings. He was always looking for ways to support his church financially and was able to provide assistance to two widows in his congregation during the last few years of his life.

A memorial service will be held to honor his memory at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at North.Church, located at 1601 W. Memorial Rd, Oklahoma City, OK, 73114. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
