Judy Frances Baker

Judy Frances Baker, age 72, was born on July 3, 1951, in Hobbs, New Mexico. She passed away on March 12, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Although she traveled and moved many times in her younger years, she eventually settled to Watonga, OK. Judy lived with her grandmother and her cousin, who was more like a sister. Their children were raised like siblings as well. Judy had various jobs in her young adult life, but her favorite was being a mother to her two children, Donita and Billy. When she remarried Omer Compton and her children got older, she filled the role of a farmers wife. This is where she found her passion for cooking. She never knew how many she was feeding until they came in from the fields, and yet there was always an extra plate available. After her husband passed away, she moved to Cyril to be closer to her mother. After her mother passed away, she moved to Yukon to be closer to her children.

Judy loved spending time with and being around her family. She also enjoyed cooking for not only her family but friends, but neighbors (and sometimes even a stranger or two) as well. She was always looking for and trying out new recipes. One of her proudest moments was when her granddaughter stayed overnight to cook with her. Judy was able to show her granddaughter a few of her "kitchen tricks" and share some of her "secret recipes". She was loved by so many people and will be missed dearly, right along with all of her cookies and pies.

Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents Ralph and Mable Giger, and her parents Ivan and Frances Bowerman.

Judy is survived by daughter Donita Baker; son Billy Baker and wife Crystal; uncle Dan Giger; brother Wade Bowerman and wife Cindy; sister (cousin) Dannie Denny; grandson Sebastian Baker; granddaughter Valeria Baker; grand pup-daughter Chloe Nicole; nephews Tad Denny and wife Leslie, Tommy Bowerman, and Bobby Bowerman and wife Laken; great-nieces Skylar Bowerman and Natalie Bowerman; great-nephew Wyatt Bowerman; half-brothers Mike Hurley and wife Diane, James Hurley and wife LaDonna, and David Hurley and wife Karla; half sisters Cherrie Jamshidi and husband Nasser and Debbie Ewing and husband Clay; and many more cousins

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Yanda and Son Funeral Home in Yukon. Graveside Services will be held at Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril, OK, on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 A.M.
