Julie Kay Popp

Julie Kay Popp, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was born in Lincoln NE, moving to Ohio for a few years and ultimately spending most of her childhood years at 102 Vine Street in Yukon, OK. A graduate of Yukon High School, she then attended Southwestern State University. Julie continued her education at West Texas State University, graduating with a degree in Nursing. She lived in various cities in Texas and Tennessee. Julie was a dedicated nurse at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN for over 30 years, retiring in 2017. In 2019 she moved back to Oklahoma settling in Mustang, OK where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Marceline Popp, and sister, Janet Susan McDaniel.

Julie is survived by her brother George Daniel "Dan" Popp and his wife Stephanie; nephews, Doug and Derrick; sister, Terri Ann Bernhardt and husband Andy; niece, Sara Stone, and great niece, Paisley Stone.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK.

Julie was an avid sports fan so the family would like to encourage friends and family to wear their favorite sports apparel at the service celebrating Julie's Life.
