Justin Ryan Hicks

Heaven gained the most loving and caring soul today. Justin Ryan Hicks passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 31. He attended Yukon public schools and graduated from Keystone National High School in 2011. He was a lifelong resident of the Yukon area. From an early age, Justin knew it was more blessed to give than to receive. His generosity was boundless, and he desired to help people in need. In death, he was an organ, tissue, and bone donor. His smile lit up the room when he entered, and his special way of saying "hello" will always be remembered. He liked going on walks and playing frisbee with his golden retriever, Bowser. He enjoyed going on cruises and traveling in the motorhome with his family. His passions included playing video games, playing chess with his sister and nephew, eating steaks grilled by his brother-in-law Braxton, binge-watching shows, and watching movies and documentaries about animals, nature, and the universe. He was very concerned for everyone he knew, that they were saved by believing in the Gospel that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was resurrected according to the scriptures. He read the Bible diligently, reached out to others to introduce them to Jesus Christ, and made efforts to learn Hebrew. He took the choice of eternal life very seriously; he knew it was the most important decision to make in a lifetime.

In our grief, we are comforted that you are at peace, and our belief that we will be together again for eternity. Even though your footprints are no longer walking on the earth, the imprints you left in our hearts will be everlasting. May your spirit soar freely, unburdened by the pains of mortality.

Justin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Hicks of Enid, OK, and grandparents, Carl and Betty Ambler of Salina, KS. He is survived by his parents, Rick and Jane Hicks of El Reno, OK; sister, Jamie Rogan (husband Braxton) of Yukon, OK; nephew, Nick Riley of Yukon, OK; aunt, Marsha Mauch (husband Bill) of Salina, KS; uncle, Rod Hicks of Enid, OK; grandparents, Tom and Jeanette Ryel of Enid, OK; grandmother, Ruth Ann Hicks of Enid, OK; and cousins, Marci Stein (husband Ryan) of Salina, KS, Paige Mauch of Denver, CO, and Kylie Das (husband Jeet) of Kansas City, KS.

Services to honor his life are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 2nd, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
