Kathryn H. Gibson

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Kathryn H. Gibson on March 12, 2025, at the age of 100. Funeral services will be held at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 2 pm, with interment following at the Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, OK. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 19 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Kaye was born in Hunter, Oklahoma on June 18, 1924, to parents Sofia and William Shaw. She had one sister, Louise, and two brothers Billy and Orville. Kaye lived and went to school in several small towns in Oklahoma. In high school Kaye and her mother moved to San Diego, CA. She was in the school band and a traveling girls' band. She loved to attend the USO dances with friends so she could jitterbug.  After graduating from San Diego Highschool she moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker Air Force Base where she met her husband A.L. Evans. Al brought one child into the marriage, Arthur Louis. They had two more children, Michael and Anne. She worked at American Mortgage in downtown Oklahoma until her retirement. At retirement, she and Al moved to Eufaula, OK, were they lived until Al's death in 1986. She met and married John Gibson 2 years later. John brought three more children into her life, Janelle, Pam and John. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Yukon, OK so they could be closer to family.  After John's death in 2007, Kaye always very independent, continued to live at her home in Yukon with little assistance until her death.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Michael Evans and his wife, Linda; daughter, Anne Riley; step-daughters, Janelle McDaniel and Pamela Ray; step-sons, Arthur Louis Evans and John C. Gibson; granddaughters, Kimberly Campbell, Diane Henry, Shannon Vinci, Holly Ray, and Jessica Smith; grandsons, Dylan Evans, and Mathew Riley and his wife, Debbie; great-granddaughters, Elena Riley, Alisha Turner, Caitlin Henry, Tessa Henry, and Sopha Vinci; great-grandsons, Fergus Campbell, Jared Schuster, Parker Wehr, Griffin Wehr, Kaden Wilson, and Brody Lunsford; and great-great-granddaughter, Madison Newton.

Family was everything to Kaye. She was loved and respected by all. She will be missed.

A viewing will take place from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. A funeral service to honor her memory will take place at 2:00pm, Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the same location followed by interment at Yukon Cemetery.
