Kay Lee Sweeney

Carol Lee (Kay) Kerr Sweeney, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, went to be with our Lord on June 4, 2023 while surrounded by loved ones.

Kay was born and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma by her parents Don and Eileen "Stevie" Kerr.  After attending McAlester High School, she went to the University of Oklahoma where she majored in Music.  Her beautiful voice was known to all who knew her, as she would spontaneously burst into song in a moment of happiness to the delight of those around her.  Kay was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and loved by her sisters.

Kay was a talented Interior Decorator in Oklahoma City and later became a successful Real Estate Agent.  In her free time, she loved to travel, especially to the coast of Maine where she could be free of the August heat and have fresh lobster every day.

Kay is survived by her son, John Sweeney of Oklahoma City; son, Montgomery Sweeney and his wife Chaille, of Oklahoma City; daughter Jacqueline Walters and her husband Chris of Houston, Texas, and five treasured grandchildren:  Carly Jane, Mont, Alex, Jewel, and Jack.  She will be indescribably missed by her friends Jana Hazelbaker and Jane Lapriore.  Preceding Kay in death were her two brothers, Clint and Donnie.
