Kem Lindon Cox

Kem Lindon Cox, a beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 26, 2023, at the age of 62. Kem was born on January 10, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James P. Cox, Jr. and Edith Louise Cox.

Growing up, Kem was raised with a strong Christian faith and attended The First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City with his family. He graduated from Northeast High School and attended Oklahoma State University. He made his life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and one of his first accomplishments was obtaining his real estate license. He was a successful agent selling commercial real estate. He also enjoyed being an auto mechanic working on his or friends cars, and his knowledge came from working at his father's service station. Later, he worked at Wiley Post Airport servicing airplanes, and also obtained his Oklahoma Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class A) while working for Arrow Wrecker Service.

Kem was preceded in death by his father, James P. Cox, Jr.; and mother, Edith Louise Cox. He is survived by his sister, Janet L. Cox of Edmond, OK; brother, James P. Cox III and wife Jennifer Cox of Tulsa, OK; brother, Larry Cox of Edmond, OK; nephew, Brandt Cox; niece Amanda Cox; niece, and Jillian Kline.

Kem loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. He also had a great passion for animals, especially dogs. He owned two beloved dogs over the years named, Casey & Slick, and he treated them like his own children. He did not go anywhere without his furry companion. The family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society Adoption Center located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.

A remembrance service will be held at Yukon Cemetery on Friday, October 6th, at 1:00pm.
