Kenis Len Campbell

Kenis Len Campbell, born July 30, 1946, departed this world after a sudden illness on July 13, 2026. Kenis was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Ivan and Marvel Campbell and attended school in Edison, Nebraska, Grandfield and Geary, Oklahoma. After graduation in 1964, he attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he learned valuable skills in building construction and cabinetry making.

Kenis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After basic training at Lackland, TX AFB, he was stationed in Portsmouth, NH at Pease AFB before going on to duty in Guam and Vietnam. A special memory from Vietnam: brother Loyal was also serving there: in his Vietnam yearbook, Loyal had written: “When I found out where my brother [Ken] was stationed, I was able to hitch a ride via one of our helicopters so we could spend the day together. [Tuy Hoa airbase, May 17, 1969.] … It was tough to leave Ken but he seemed happier there than his previous job on Guam, loading bombs onto B-52s.”

He met the love of his life, Nancy Stanford, in Oklahoma in 1970 and they were married April 10, 1971, at the Geary First Christian Church and eventually settled in Yukon, Oklahoma. They had 3 children, Todd, Rebecca, and Kevin.

Kenis was employed at Capital Aviation for twenty-eight years, retiring July 18, 2024. He used his fine finish cabinetry skills refurbishing interiors of private jets.

Kenis is survived by his wife Nancy of Yukon, son Todd and wife Stacy of Oklahoma City, daughter Rebecca Rhynes and husband John of Tuttle, son Kevin and significant other Janie Elliott of Yukon, sister Aleta Campbell Medeiros and husband Bill of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother Bryan of Kearney, Nebraska, sister Elona Baxter of Kearney, Nebraska, grandchildren Jordan, Lauren, Gage, Skyler, Aaron, Riley, Rayne, Kaleigh, Brady, Avery, Harlee, and Max, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Reverend Ivan E. and Marvel A Campbell, brothers Loyal and Ricky, along with numerous other relatives.

Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Yukon Cemetery. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. prior to the service.
