Laquita Ann Spencer

LaQuita Ann Spencer, 76, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on January 2, 2025.

LaQuita was born on July 22, 1947, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Loyd and Juanita Fanshier. She graduated from Elk City High School in 1965. After graduation, she attended beauty college in Oklahoma City and worked in that field for a few years. She began her long and successful career as a realtor in the late 1980s and earned the Million Dollar Achiever Award in 1989. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing soccer and loved coaching her two boys.

LaQuita married in 1965, and they had their twin daughters, Lanelle and Chantelle Brinkley, as well as sons Shannon and Aaron Brinkley. On February 19, 1994, she married the love of her life, Mike Spencer. They lived in the Yukon area for over 40 years. Those who knew LaQuita know her smile can light up any room, and her infectious light was evident to everyone she met. Her soft-spoken nature had a way of making people feel seen and loved. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed spending quality time with her husband, friends, and family, taking long drives, and attending their local church. She had a love for the Lord, and it showed in her spirit.

LaQuita had a couple of guilty pleasures: a good burger and a tall glass of tea. If you saw LaQuita, she more than likely had a cup of tea for the road.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is walking with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the days to come, we know we can find comfort and peace through Him.

LaQuita is preceded in joining the Lord by her father and mother, Loyd and Juanita Fanshier; her brother, Philip Fanshier; and her twin daughters, Lanelle and Chantelle Brinkley.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Spencer; her sister, LaWanda Fanshier Armstrong; her sons, Aaron Brinkley and wife Keri, and Shannon Brinkley and wife Connie; her stepdaughter, Hollie Jackson and husband Chris; her grandchildren, Taylor Brinkley Carr and husband Cris, Cole Brinkley, Trinity Brinkley, Christian Jackson, and Colby Jackson; her great-grandchildren, Mason and Ellie Carr, Brooks and Colter Brinkley, and Kingston Brinkley; her nephew, Dirk Armstrong and wife Heather; her niece, Amber Armstrong Cottrell and husband John; her niece, Alexa Fanshier; her great-niece, Mackenzie Cottrell; her great-nephew, Ian Cottrell; her great-niece, Reagan Armstrong; and her great-nephew, Tyler Armstrong.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. On Monday, January 6, 2025, the viewing will continue from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the same location, followed by a private interment for the family.
