Larry Gene Roof

Larry Gene Roof, 69, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.  He was born January 19, 1953, in Edwards, CA to Harold and Dorothy Roof.  He grew up in The Village, OK spending much of his time on family farms nearby.  He was a 1971 graduate of John Marshall High School and attended both OSU and UCO.  He worked for various Caterpillar dealers for many years servicing all types of equipment including earthmoving, paving, industrial engines and lift trucks, etc.  He was a Christian; raised Catholic but enjoyed other denominations as well.  Larry loved to work with his hands, using his skill to rebuild tractors, cars or any piece of equipment needing new life and liked helping neighbors, friends and family when they needed something repaired or built. He also loved farming and moved to a small hobby farm in Luther, OK in 2007.  He enjoyed his time working for Arcadia Farms later in life, and from the farming experience of his youth, helped his family enjoy the love of farm animals, goats, cows and horses on the hobby farm.  Larry was also a Ford enthusiast, appreciating Ford pick-ups and Ford Mustangs. He was a member of Mustang Car Club of America for many years and most recently rejoined the Oklahoma Mustang Club and Thursday Night Cruisers. When not working on the farm or tinkering around on a project, Larry had fun sailing, snow skiing, gardening, woodworking or metalworking. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy of the home, daughter Jamie Clemons and husband Michael of Yukon, and Judy's daughter, Cameo Hoyle of Lynchburg, VA.  Also, by two grandchildren, Mavrik and Javen Clemons, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, and many cousins and friends.  Larry showed love and kindness with sincerity and heart to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Viewing will be held 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, with interment following at Spring Creek Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
