Lee Kieffer

Iona Lee Bays Kieffer, was born February 24, 1928 and passed away January 17, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband Franz Kieffer, two sons, Stanley Hack and Robert Del, granddaughter, Allison Michelle, grandson, Steven Partin, and two great grandchildren.

Iona Lee Bays Kieffer was born in a log cabin on a farm south of Sparks, OK, the daughter of Elmer Lee Bays and Pearl Pinson Bays. She attended grade school and graduated high school at Sparks in 1946. After graduation she moved to Shawnee, OK where she worked for S&H Kress and Woolworth before becoming a Nursing Assistant. During this time, she met and married the love of her life, Franz X. Kieffer. They were married 62 years and had 3 boys and 1 daughter: Stanley Hack, Phillip Joseph, Robert Del and Leesa Fran. Six grandchildren; Franz Joseph Kieffer, Allison Michelle Kieffer, Daniel Kieffer, Steven Partin, Landen Williams, Maddison Williams and 6 great grandchildren.

Lee and Franz followed the oil business for 20 years living in Healdton, OK, Stillwater, OK, Hennesey, OK, Piedmont, OK, then finally moving to Yukon, OK. Making wonderful friends everywhere they lived and leaving them behind with each move. Deciding to put down roots, Lee got her Real Estate License in 1967 and then received her Brokers license in 1968. She opened her first Real Estate office in 1970 in Yukon, OK. Then in 1976 she purchased a Red Carpet Franchise where she Co-Owned and Operated the Kieffer Davis Red Carper Real Estate Co. Due to her husband's health she sold her company and finished her 45 year career as a Broker Associate with Prudential Realty. She was an active member of the Yukon Chamber of Commerce and the first woman President of that Organization. She was a circuit speaker and bible study coordinator for Christian Woman's Club, an international organization sharing Jesus with women. She spent 45 years with partners in prayer, attending conferences nationally, studying the Bible, praying for the whole church that might be filled with God's Holy Spirit. Lee loved Jesus and her church family, to her each person was special.

Viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, at Town & Country Christian Church, Yukon, with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
