Leonard Thayer Fowler, Iii

Leonard T. Fowler III, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He was born July 20, 1947, to Leonard "L.T." and Edith (Dinsmore) Fowler. He was a 1965 graduate of Northwest Classen High School, then studied at the University of Central Oklahoma. He married Barbara Goodrich on March 23, 1976, in Oklahoma City, and made their lifelong home in Yukon. He was a traveling salesman for twenty years, worked for the local newspaper, then as maintenance for Yukon Public Schools and Canadian Valley Vo-Tech when he retired.

His hobbies throughout the years included a passion for classic cars that led him to "turning wrench" on a stock racing car with his friend, Kenny Horn, to race at local tracks; ballroom, country & western, and disco dancing; building life-size Christmas character displays for the home; visiting local ghost towns; and "Spaghetti Western" movies. He enjoyed summer vacations with family, taking up boating so family and friends could waterski and tube, and frequent road trips to the western U.S. His favorite destinations were the Grand Canyon, the town of Tombstone, Disneyland, and taking the scenic narrow-gauge railway from Durango to Silverton in Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a brother, Michael, and his wife, Terry; a son, Lennie Fowler, his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Audrey, Regan, and Ella; a daughter, Jennifer Schultz, her husband, Rich, and their sons, Carter, Trevor, and Grayson; and many nephews and cousins.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Leonard touched, are invited to the Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament, Yukon, OK, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 for his memorial.
