Leonard Vowell "Bud" Hicks, Jr.

Leonard Vowell “Bud” Hicks Jr., 73 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on May 2, 2026. Born on January 23, 1953, in Dumas, Texas, Leonard lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to his family and friends.

Leonard was the beloved son of the late Leonard Vowell Hicks Sr. and LaVera Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his wife Sherry Hicks, sister Sharon Barker, and his daughter Christian Noel Hicks.

He is survived by his loving children: son Jacob Hicks and daughter-in-law Chelsea Queen-Hicks; daughters Stephanie Brewster and Shannon Pierot; and sons-in-law Matthew Brewster and Glen Pierot. Leonard cherished his role as a grandfather to Lindsey Negri, Kennedy McCormick, Justin and Kassy Brewster, Carlos De La Rosa, Casyn Durante, Jayden and Silas Hughes, and Brad Poage. He also took great joy in being a great-grandfather to Jackson Brewster. His extended family includes his sister Kim Monger, sister-in-law Lisa Harrington, and brothers-in-law Jim Harrington, Jack Barker, and Tony Monger. His nephews Cody Monger, Jared Barker, Evan Monger, and niece April Monger.

A devoted Christian throughout his life, Leonard’s faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering. His love for the Lord guided him in all that he did. Known for his generosity and kind spirit, Leonard had a heart, as big as the Texas sky where he was born. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need and left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Leonard Vowell “Bud” Hicks Jr.’s Memorial Service will be held on May 16, 2026, at 2:00pm at Life Church, 1101 E. Main St, Yukon OK 73099.
