Leroy Folks

Leroy Folks, (95), of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. He was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on August 18th, 1928, to the late John Francis and Rachel Ann Folks. He met Wanelda Reed at the age of 20 and married shortly after.   During their marriage, he worked as a superintendent at W&W Steel for over 40 years. After retirement, they spent many years RVing, fishing, and camping in Colorado. In his later years, he enjoyed his friends at the Senior Center. He was the sweetest dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. He will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and son-in-law. Leroy is survived by two daughters, Jannett Bushong of Oklahoma City and Peggy McCorkle and husband Joe of Yukon; grandchildren, Kristi Wright and husband Jarrid, Ryan McCorkle and wife Jami, and Rachel Brodie and husband Anthony; great grandchildren, Anna and Wesley Wright and Max McCorkle, and sister Juanita Adams of Elk City. Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Monday, April 29th, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., at South Yukon Church of Christ, 11700 N. 10th St., Yukon, OK, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
