Linda Marie Mitchell

Linda Marie (Rosecrans) Mitchell, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 5th, 2024, at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on January 18th, 1949, in Renton, Washington, Linda was the daughter of Duane Lewis Rosecrans and Mary Lillian Mayrand. She grew up in Burien, Washington, where she graduated from Highline High School in 1967. At the age of 19, Linda married Lawrence Mitchell, who would be her husband for 56 years. Linda had a long career serving various agencies within the United States government.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Lawrence Sr., and sister-in-law Sue Mulkey. She is survived by her siblings, Nancy Louise Sparks and Franklin Duane Rosecrans; her son, Lawrence Jr., and daughter-in-law, Diane Mitchell; daughter Christa and her husband, Brian Cook; her granddaughters, Jessica and her husband, Tanner Wisham, Haley and her husband, Zach Nicely, and Julia and her husband, Jesse Montez. She is also survived by her bonus grandkids, Sam Cook, Hayden Cook, Sam Roach, and Catherine Roach; her great-grandson, Draco Montez; as well as nephew Brent Hathaway and his wife, Lani, and niece Emily Hathaway. Linda also had many nieces and nephews from Lawrence Sr.'s family whom she loved very much.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, OK 73099. Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
