Linda Kay Straily

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Linda Kay Straily, of Yukon, Oklahoma. Linda was born July 10, 1946, in Chandler, Oklahoma to Hiram and Juanita Douglas, and passed away September 28, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with family by her side.

Linda was born in Chandler, Oklahoma spending her early years in Jones, Oklahoma, eventually moving to Oklahoma City and graduating from Star Spencer High School.  While she had an unmatched work ethic and long working career that concluded with an extended tenure acting as the office manager for the Junior League of OKC, Linda would be the first one to tell you that her true passion in life was her love and dedication to our small family.  Linda built her life around her family so she could spend as much time with her mother, two sisters, son and nieces/nephews as possible.  Linda's happiest time was when she was playing rummy with her crew, hanging out at "grandma's house" all weekend, eating, laughing, eating some more and laughing until everyone had tears running down their faces.  She was fiercely devoted to her son Chester.  Linda never missed a single game, school event or important life event.   She was known as "Ma Straily" to Chester's close group of friends because she always found time to be involved (Chester might say too involved sometimes…lol), but it was a title that was well earned and something she carried as a badge of honor.    Linda will also be greatly missed by her favorite slot machines at Lucky Star, Winstar, and Riverwind Casino just to name a few.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Douglas, father Hiram Douglas, and her oldest sister Sondra Pryor.  She is survived by her only son Chester Straily and Chester's husband Paul Kidd, granddaughter Vanessa Aylor and her husband Brian Aylor, granddaughter Stacey Deaton and her husband Raymond Deaton, great granddaughter Skylar Overcash, younger sister, Gail Jent, nephew, John Smith and his wife Julie Haun, niece Carla Smith and her husband Steve Smith, great nephew, Preston Smith, great niece, Allison Smith, nephew William (Bill) Pryor and his wife Camille Pryor, great nephew's William and Joshua Pryor, and great niece's Rachel and Emily Pryor.

In honor of Linda's wishes, there will be no formal services.  The family appreciates everyone's well wishes, prayers, and the kindness that has already been shown during this difficult time.
