Lloyd Hudson, Jr.

Lloyd Hudson Jr. was born December 28th, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Helen Hudson-Grover and Lloyd Hudson Sr. He passed peacefully on September 11, 2024, in his home in Yukon, Oklahoma surrounded by family.

Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Soldier, Lloyd enjoyed being outside gardening and fishing as well as watching old western movies and reading books that were full of history. He was private and reserved but very proud of his time in the military. If you ever wanted him to join a conversation, just asking him about gardening, fishing, or military life would open the door of him gladly giving advice on how to grow the best cucumbers, okra, and tomatoes or endless stories of his time serving our country.

Lloyd served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964, and the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1964 to 1992, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He was also a valued member of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a concrete analyzer where he retired after more than 20 years.

Preceded in death was his mother Helen, father Lloyd Sr., and stepfather Willy Grover.

Left to honor his memory are his wife of 51 years Lora Jane "Janie" Hudson; brother Lew Hudson and wife Kathy and family; son Eddie Hudson and wife Holly; son Michael Hudson and wife Tosha; daughter Misty Boylan and husband Kenny; Grandchildren Andy Hudson, Brandon Hudson and wife Ambrosia, Kynsi Hudson,  Mica Hudson, Johnnie Hudson and wife Janessa, Destiny Hudson, Zachery Hudson and wife Jelena, and Ashley Fore;  Great-Grandchildren Bennett Hudson, Scarlett Hudson, and Jasper Hudson.

A Visitation will be held Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Yanda and Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament, Yukon, Oklahoma, 73099. A Funeral Service will take place 2:00 P.M., Saturday September 14th, 2024, at the same location, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, Oklahoma.
