Lola Faye Lingo

Lola Faye (Overton) Lingo, 86, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2025. Celebration of Life will be Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert (Bob), and her brother (Ernest Overton, Jr).

Lola Faye was born to Ernest Murl and Eva (Dowers) Overton on November 4, 1938. She lived on a farm southwest of Pond Creek until 1950 when they moved to Pond Creek "town". Lola is a graduate of the Pond Creek High School Class of 1956. Lola Faye attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Oklahoma State University. She received her degree of Bachelor of Science in Business from OSU in May 1960.

Lola married Robert Lee Lingo on April 16, 1960. Their children are Tamyra Lingo Fancher and husband Gary, and two sons Stan Lingo and wife Renee, and Jerry Lingo and wife Julie.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Grandchildren include Justin Lingo and wife Ashley, Matthew Campbell and wife Kristin, Jacob Lingo and wife Allie, Catherine Perina and husband Justin, Jordan Bartels and husband Travis, Jadyn Lingo. Great grandchildren include Laine Lingo, Oaklee Lingo, Nash Lingo, Wyatt Campbell, Hope Campbell, Mason Lingo, Emma Lingo, Austin Lingo, Wesley Perina, Quincy Bartels, Jaylee Lingo.

She taught 3rd grade Sunday School for many years at Portland Ave Baptist.  Lola had 14 years of dedicated service to the Canadian Valley Board of Education and Vo-Tech System.

Lola exhibited the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time from her career responsibilities and farming in Canadian County with family. Strawberries and flowers in the garden brought the family together often. She and Bob enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world and across the United States.

Lola was a spiffy dresser, immaculate housekeeper, avid gardener, and talented seamstress. Lola Faye was an encourager, a good friend, and had a subtle but great sense of humor.

We rejoice in knowing she was follower of Christ and raised her family to Love and Trust the Lord. She set examples in teaching, leading, tithing and passing our heritage to the next generation. We celebrate a life well lived!
