Maggie Lee Blackmon

Maggie Lee Blackmon, age 97, died May 12, 2023 at Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born to Gennie E. and James Thomas "Jim" Gamble on August 19, 1925 at Middleburg, Oklahoma. She completed her formal education by finishing the 8 ^th grade in eastern Grady County, Oklahoma in the Oak Ridge two room school. In 1943, she married Ray E Busby and their first child was born later that year, four more children followed. In 1954, she and Ray divorced and she later married A. R Blackmon.

Maggie was a licensed hair stylist but spent her working life sewing in garment factories rather than styling hair.

Having been a member of the Baptist church for many years, she spent her later years of religious practice by listening to gospel music and messages by television.

Preceding Maggie in death are 2 daughters, Ura Mae Sherlock and Joann Hearon and 2 grandsons, Tray Hearon and David Ratliff, and all of her siblings, Georgia Mills, Mary Crouch, Margie Lusk, J. B Gamble and Gene Gamble.

She is survived by two sons, Curtis Busby of Mustang, OK and Brice Busby & wife Brenda of Hereford, TX; daughter, Virginia Talbert of Owasso, OK, and son-in-law, Danny Hearon of Yukon, OK. In addition, she is also survived by 10 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

The closed casket graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Dibble Cemetery, Dibble, OK, with Jimmie Talbert of the Chickasha Northside Church of Christ officiating.
