Margaret Rita Moore

Margaret Rita Moore, age 77, passed away on April 13, 2025. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on November 19, 1947. Margaret graduated in 1965 from Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, California. She went on to work as a beautician on base at China Lake, where she met Gene Moore. The two married in 1975 and settled together in Yukon in 1977. She continued working as a beautician until after her three grandchildren were born, when she decided that she wanted to spend more time with them. Margaret loved volunteering. She spent time with Yukon Public School's Helping Hand and Chisholm Heights Baptist Church Office. After the death of her husband Gene, she met and subsequently took care of Robert Hopper until his death in September 2021, which was the same month she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Margaret started chemo after her surgery and continued this process until she passed. Her strong will, kindness, and dedication to caring for others will always be remembered by all who knew her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Gene Moore; parents Harold and Agnes Winter; daughter Sheila Picard-Donoho; brother Robert Winter; sisters Kathleen Winter and Mary Frampton; and fiancé Robert Hopper.

She is survived by her children Harold Bartley, Shauna (Joey) Villarreal, and Richard Moore; stepchildren Terry Moore, Jimmy Moore, and Eric (Paulina) Moore. brother Michael Winter; sisters Angela (Darrell) Grandjean and Barbara (Bob) Boland; grandchildren Shelby Scarbrow, Michelle (Anthony) Acosta, and Cody (Bianca) Calloway; step-grandchildren Noah Buzzell and Jacen Moore; great-grandchildren Decklyn Jacobs and Levi Acosta; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Viewing will be at Yanda and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, April 24, 2025, between 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Chisholm Heights Baptist, 2243 W. State Hwy. 152, Mustang, OK 73064, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
