Marvin Lee Smith

Marvin Lee Smith, 79, of Union City passed away on Thursday, December 7, in Oklahoma City.

He was born in Kingfisher on March 18, 1944, to Donald and Mildred (Snethen) Smith, and went on to graduate from Union City Public Schools. Marvin obtained his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University. Throughout his career, he worked as the Corporate Director of Wilson Foods and then later as the Vice President of Sales/Operations of Lopez-Dorada Foods.

Upon retiring, Marvin dedicated his time to building homes for Habitat for Humanities, making kolaches for Yukon's annual Czech Festival, and using his knowledge and experience to help local government and school districts. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on his Union City Tigers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Marvin was a member of the Union City Lions Club, a Trustee on the town board of Union City and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, brother Milton, and one grandson. He is survived by his brother, David Smith (Julia) of Indianapolis, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life is Thursday, December 14, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in the Student Worship Center, located at 620 Cemetery Road in Yukon.
