Mary Frances Anderson

Our beloved mother Mary Frances Sherman Anderson slipped quietly to heaven on July 25, 2023. After suffering from dementia for years, we are sure that she is in a much better place, in heaven with her Savior.  She loved two things as much or more than life, the good news of Jesus Christ and her two sons Aaron and David. Mary's faith in Jesus Christ was more than a foundation; it was her entire house. The love for her two sons was immeasurable.  She took great pleasure in telling the world about her two boys.  If you spent more than five minutes with Mary, you were assured to hear the words, "my two boys" and some glowing admiration would always follow.

Mary was born September 29, 1937, to Wilfred Tyree Sherman and Eva Andevine Harris Sherman in Eureka, Kansas.  She was the oldest of five children born to Wilfred and Eva. In 1961 she moved to Yukon, Oklahoma after marrying Donald Anderson, and to her that was home. They lived on Birch Street, and their two sons graduated from Yukon High School.  Mary was active in her church and in the community.  She participated in the Yukon Meals on Wheels program for decades and she was very involved in the county extension program.  One of Mary's favorite activities was her "bus tours".  She was often found on many different bus tours exploring Oklahoma and the surrounding areas.  Mary also loved to cook; her cinnamon rolls were famous to those who knew her.

Mary is survived by her brothers Ronald and William as well as her sister, Judy.  She is also survived by her two beloved boys, Aaron (Julie) and David, both of Utah along with eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Sue. Her husband, Donald Edgar Anderson died in 2009.  Services were held on July 29, 2023 and she was laid to rest beside her husband at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Chandler, Oklahoma.

Mary was 85 when she passed away and although she will be missed so much, our hearts are warmed to know that she will meet her Savior and tell everyone in heaven about her two boys "and everything". Until we meet again, go rest Mary.
