Matthew Wayne Scheirer

Matthew Wayne Scheirer, age 45, was born December 24, 1980, in Midwest City, OK, and passed away February 20, 2026, in Warr Acres, OK.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, George "Butch" Scheirer; his grandparents, Jim and Minnie Scheirer; and Truman and Bernadine DeVilliers.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Scheirer of Yukon; his sisters, Sheryl Compton of Yukon, Keri Cardillo of Chepachet, Rhode Island, and Katie Scheirer of Yukon; his brothers-in-law, James Compton and Jack Cardillo; and his three nephews, Clay and Corey Compton and Gabe Scheirer, all of Yukon.

Matthew surprised us all by arriving on Christmas Eve 45 years ago. He was truly a gift from God. Born with Down syndrome, Matthew touched countless lives and brought joy wherever he went. Matt was active in Special Olympics for 30 years and became involved with Yukon Spirit League after moving to Yukon in 2016. He was a First Degree Knight of Columbus.

Matt was the absolute best son and brother anyone could ever ask for.

Viewing and visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno, OK, with interment following at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
