Michael Joseph Gandara

Michael Joseph Gandara, age 71, passed away on November 21, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was born on October 17, 1953, in El Paso, Texas. Mike moved to Yukon in 1991 from Oklahoma City, where he had spent most of his life. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in business administration and was an active member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. Mike had a successful career as an automobile dealer, but his passion extended beyond cars to collecting and selling antiques. He was also dedicated to giving back to the community, particularly through his work with the Oklahoma Jail and Prison Ministries, where he ministered to inmates.

Known for his jovial personality and infectious sense of humor, Mike was often the life of the party. His friends and family will remember him fondly for his ability to find humor in nearly any situation and his knack for selling just about anything. Whether it was a used car, a unique antique, or simply a joke, Mike could always be counted on for a good time and a great deal.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Luvena Gandara, and his parents, Louis and Louise "Ducky" Gandara. He is survived by his son, Jason Gandara; step-son J.D. Singleton; step-daughters Jessica Kline (Johnny), Tina Gott (Michael), and Jackie Moore (Dave); brothers Steve (Denise), Ronnie (Tami), and Danny (Teresa) Gandara; as well as numerous nephews and nieces: Dakota Gandara, Jake Gandara, Taylor Stallard (Chas), Zac Gandara, Israel Gandara, Christopher Gandara, Karlin and Karina Gandara, Gabe Gandara, Pablo Gandara, Michael Gandara, Jesse Gandara, Kaitlyn Gandara, Kim Benson (Nate), and Chyna Noel Gandara. He is also survived by a host of friends who will miss his humor, warmth, and entrepreneurial spirit.

A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held on December 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Yanda and Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunnylane Baptist Church, Del City, OK.
