Michele Dotson

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” — 2 Timothy 4:7–8

With hearts that grieve, yet not without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13), we celebrate the life of Michele Dotson, who entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ on August 6, 2026. While her earthly body grew weak through the effects of dementia, her eternal hope remained secure in the finished work of Christ. Today, she sees by sight the Savior she trusted by faith.

Michele was born on June 6, 1964, in Amarillo, Texas. She later made her home in Yukon, Oklahoma, where she faithfully loved her family, served her church, and quietly reflected the kindness and gentleness of Christ. Above every title she held in this life, Michele would have wanted to be known simply as a follower of Jesus.

Her faith was not merely something she professed—it shaped the way she lived. She treasured God’s Word, loved His people, and sought to encourage those who were beginning their walk with Christ. She believed the gospel, trusted in God’s sovereignty, and found her peace in the promises of Scripture.

She faithfully loved her husband, Darren Dotson, honoring the covenant they made before God for more than thirty years. Through seasons of joy and seasons of hardship, she demonstrated steadfast commitment, reminding those around her that biblical love is patient, enduring, and rooted in faithfulness.

Michele also leaves behind her beloved children: Shaun Vanzant and her husband, Zach Vanzant; Zoey Culpepper and her husband, Cory Culpepper; and Joshua Dotson and his wife, Tessa Dotson. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Payton, Brett, Ava, Laney, Scarlette, Merritt, and Messer.

Her love for her family was evident in the countless ordinary moments that became extraordinary because she was there—offering encouragement, prayer, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Those who knew Michele remember her gentle spirit, her compassionate heart, and the quiet strength that came from walking with Christ. She was never one to seek recognition, but she faithfully pointed others toward the One who is worthy of all glory. Her life echoed the words of John the Baptist: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

Though dementia slowly stole many earthly memories, it could never separate her from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39). The Great Shepherd held her securely to the very end, proving once again that our salvation rests not in the strength of our grip on Him, but in His unfailing grip on us.

For those who belong to Christ, death is not the end of the story. Because Jesus conquered sin and the grave through His death and resurrection, Michele now enjoys what every believer longs for—to be absent from the body and present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). She has heard the words every faithful servant desires to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew 25:23)

She was preceded in death by her father, S.T. Graham; her mother, Fid Anderson; and her brother, Michael Graham, who welcomed her into eternity. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply. Yet they rejoice with confidence that this goodbye is only temporary. One day, because of Christ, all who trust in Him will be reunited in a place where every tear is wiped away, death shall be no more, and the former things will have passed away (Revelation 21:4).

Michele’s greatest desire would not be that people remember her accomplishments, but that they know the Savior she loved. If her life points anyone to Jesus Christ, then her legacy continues to bear eternal fruit.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma, with interment following at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, Oklahoma.
