Mickey Jim King

Mickey Jim King, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on January 17, 2023 after fighting kidney disease for 12 years.

Mickey Jim King was born on November 3, 1945, to Hazel Dale Byrd King and James Elmer King in El Campo, Texas. He attended Palacios High School with his high school sweetheart and graduated in 1965.

Mickey worked, from the young age of 12, in the oil and gas industry at his father's gas station. In 1962, Mickey met Georgia Mae MaGouirk King in high school. Mickey and Georgia were married on April 8, 1967 and went on to have two children, Matthew Trent King and Kerri Dawn King Kline.

In 2017, Mickey retired at the age of 71 as an Area Operations Manager at Halcon Resources. He spent his time tending to his flowers, washing cars, spending time and traveling with family, attending sports events for his grandchildren, and riding his Harley. He was a member of The Mason's and a member of Fairview Liberty Baptist Church.

Mickey was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Dale Byrd King; father, James Elmer King; grandfather, James Elmer King Sr.; grandmother, Lenora Risinger King; grandfather, J.E. Byrd; and grandmother, Willie Mae Wilson Byrd.

Mickey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Georgia M. King; son, Matthew Trent King and wife Joey; daughter, Kerri Dawn Kline and husband Mike; sister, Patricia Dale Burden and husband Jerry; brother, Kenny King and partner, David; granddaughter, Talor Dawn Andrade and husband Jayce; grandson, Trevor Ryan Kline and wife Chloe; grandson, Kaden James King; and great-grandsons, Jett David Andrade and Weston Ryan Kline.

Mickey's celebration of life is set for February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
