Neva Ann Perkins

Neva Ann Perkins, a devoted educator, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on May 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. She was born to Kay and Gladys Gadberry of Wagoner, OK on February 1, 1953.

Neva's passion for learning led her to pursue higher education, culminating in a bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She dedicated 29 years of her life to shaping young minds as a grade schoolteacher, with most of her career spent at Wagoner Middle School. Neva's impact on her students and colleagues was profound, and her commitment to education was unwavering.

Outside of her professional life, Neva found joy in spending time with her family, crafting beautiful jewelry, and taking leisurely drives around the lake. Her warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Neva is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving children, Ryan Perkins and fiancé Breeze of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Tamara Vaught and husband Dakota of Yukon, Oklahoma.  She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Tate and Tanner Vaught of Yukon, Oklahoma and two bonus grandchildren Seneca and Sequoyah Henkel of McAlester, OK.  Neva is also survived by her sister Carolyn Siegel of Tulsa, Oklahoma and two brothers Mike Gadberry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Frank Gadberry of Wagoner, Oklahoma.

A funeral service to honor Neva's life will be held at Bethel Community Church in Yukon, OK on Friday, May 24th at 2:30 pm with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery. Prior to the service, a viewing will take place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, May 23 at Yanda and Son Funeral Home in Yukon, OK.

Neva Ann Perkins will be remembered for her infectious smile, kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and students. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she leaves behind.
