Nicholas James Taylor

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas James Taylor, affectionately known as Nick, who left this world on November 7, 2024, at the age of 39. Nick was born on October 6, 1985, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was a lifelong resident of Yukon, Oklahoma. He was a loving son, brother, friend, and dedicated servant of his community.

Nick graduated from Yukon High School in 2004 and had a passion for giving back to others, especially to the youth of his beloved community. A devoted member of Discovery Assembly of God Church since childhood, Nick's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was active in many church ministries, serving as a teacher in the Royal Rangers program and volunteering in the Children's Church. His unwavering commitment to mentoring and guiding younger generations reflected his deep sense of purpose and love for others. Outside of the church, Nick was an avid pro wrestling fan.

Nick was preceded in death by his father, Clyde M. Taylor; his stepfather, Don A. "Tony" Vaughn; his maternal grandparents, Buford and Wanna Rhodes; and his paternal grandfather, Clayton Taylor.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa (Rhodes) Vaughn; his brothers, Christopher Taylor and Patrick Vaughn; and his paternal grandmother, Joetta Taylor.

Nick's family and friends take comfort in knowing that his legacy of faith, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A memorial service celebrating Nick's life will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Discovery Assembly of God in Yukon, Oklahoma.
