Nolan Dean Glidewell, Jr.

Nolan Dean Glidewell, Jr. age 69, passed from this life on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Yukon, OK. He was born December 5, 1952 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Air Force where he received the following medals:  Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He was honorably discharged with a rank of Tech SGT. Nolan also obtained a Radiology Technician associates degree. His career as an Air Traffic Controller allowed him to further his training with the Air Traffic Control Operator Course, Terminal Instrument Procedures Course, Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership School and the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Course.

Nolan was very active and supportive of the Guthrie Scottish Rite and the Indian Shrine Bronco Unit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nolan D. Glidewell, Sr., and mother, Alma C. Glidewell.

Nolan is survived by two sons, Nolan D. Glidewell, III, and Dean F. Glidewell; sisters, Mildred C. Batiz, and Dr. Alma M. Herrera, and brother-in-law, Dr. Jorge L. Herrera.

The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors or the India Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 3601 N.W. 36 ^th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m., at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
