Nora Mae "Lewis" Buckner

Nora Mae (Lewis) Buckner was born May 27, 1931 in Pawhuska, OK, and passed into her heavenly home on January 10, 2023.

Nora was a long time resident of Yukon. She and her husband W.C. "Buck" Buckner built their house on Creekwood Drive in 1973. They had wonderful friends and neighbors, Jack and Barbara Cooper and Jim and Mary Kay Niles.

Nora retired from the Oklahoma City Branch Federal Reserve Bank in 1972. She was raising her grandson at that time, so she joined Helping Hands with Yukon Schools. She also joined the Yukon Art League, Stage Door Theatre, her church choir, arts and craft club and she fell in love with making porcelain dolls.

Buck owned an airplane company at Wiley Post Airport. They did a lot of traveling by plane for many years but later in their lives decided to travel in an RV. They traveled until they no longer could because of Buck's illness. He passed away in 2003. Nora sold the big RV and bought a smaller more manageable one just for her. She moved to Edmond and traveled for about eight more years.

Nora moved back to Yukon in 2013. She became active with the singing group, the Silver Chords, and the Dale Robertson Center. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. She moved to Spanish Cove in 2015 and continued to enjoy participating in all activities until her passing.

In addition to her husband, Buck, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Violet Lewis; daughter, Donna Novey; grandson, Shane Hedrick; brother, Bob Lewis, and sister Judy Sisney. Nora is survived by her daughter, Deborah Landers; three grandkids, Scott Dyer, David Robison and Dawn Robison; five great-grandkids; four great-great-grandkids, and brother, Joe Lewis.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the funeral home, with graveside services following at 1:00 p.m., at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
