Norma Jo Doutey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Norma Jo Doutey, who passed away on December 31st, 2023 at the age of 88.  She was born in Prague, OK, on May 26th, 1935, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Humphrey) Piter. She later moved to Yale, OK, in 1951 with her family.  She married Ralph Eugene Doutey in Yale, OK, on June 3rd, 1956.

Norma was a dedicated, loving wife and devoted mother to her children Matthew, Timothy, and Amy. She supported Ralph in operating the family business, Alfalfa Veterinary Clinic in Cherokee, Ok for 30 years.

Norma Doutey was a kind and generous soul, always putting family first.  She was actively involved in her children's school and extracurricular activities.  Norma also enjoyed volunteering in church ministries.  Upon retirement, Ralph and Norma relocated to Yukon, OK, allowing her to continue to pour herself into her family and attend her grandchildren's activities.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, and survived by her three children, Matthew Doutey and wife Nancy of Tulsa, OK, Tim Doutey and wife Kristin of Yukon, OK, Amy Lazarus and husband Mac of Mustang, OK and grandchildren, Amanda Colby, Patricia Guinn and husband Sean, Eric Doutey and wife Ashley, Mars Doutey, Michael Doutey, Andrew Doutey and wife Sarah, Tabitha Doutey, Brandi Elder and husband Zach, Blake Lazarus, Beth Lazarus, and great grandchildren Benedict Colby, Rosemary Colby, Gabriel Colby, Eleanor Colby, Logan Guinn, Wyatt Guinn, Oliver Doutey, Owen Doutey, Annistyn Doutey, Laikyn Doutey, Maddelyn Doutey, and Macy Elder.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Jim Piter, Steve Piter, Wesley Piter, and Kraston Colby, the late husband of Amanda Colby.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Oklahoma City in the memory of Norma Jo Doutey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Yukon, with interment following at 2:30 p.m., at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, OK.
