Patrick Owen Bonham

Patrick Owen Bonham of Yukon, Oklahoma, was born on March 18, 1992, and passed away on August 20, 2024, at the young age of 32. Patrick's dear wife, Katie (Parks) Bonham, had the difficult task of telling their precious 5-year-old son, Liam, that "daddy has gone to heaven". At times, Liam has verbalized "I want my daddy back." Family and friends are thankful for the unfiltered freedom of this innocent child. He has given audible language for what we are all feeling in our hearts. It seems way too soon for Patrick to go to heaven.

Patrick was a 2010 graduate of Yukon High School where he excelled academically and is also remembered for his band accomplishments and his stellar drama performances. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree at Southern Nazarene University in 2014. While there, he was selected to go on a summer mission trip to Swaziland and he spent a fabulous semester studying abroad in Austria.

Patrick and Katie's romance has a fun matchmaking beginning. Katie was a teacher at Council Grove Elementary School. Patrick's Aunt Marilyn was, and still is, employed at this same school. One night the teachers and staff were having a get together to play BUNCO. Marilyn had invited her sister, Kristie (Patrick's mom), to also attend. Following the game Kristie mentioned to Marilyn that she thought it would be nice for Patrick and Katie to meet each other and Marilyn agreed. Marilyn shared this conversation with Katie. Katie was a bit hesitant but agreed that Marilyn could share her contact information with Patrick through Facebook. This led to Patrick and Katie talking and it just snowballed from there. They had a beautiful wedding on October 13, 2017.

Patrick had a wide spectrum of interests. He enjoyed putting together intricate Lego projects; he was a whiz with technology; he was extremely handy whether with vehicles or around the home; he loved traveling and going to new places; he especially enjoyed taking Katie and Liam on short trips to see the points of interest on the Oklahoma Route 66 Passport; and he delighted in camping.

Patrick was employed at MTM Recognition as a financial analyst. His knowledge and work ethic resulted in the admiration and respect of his coworkers. There was a rich mutual respect as Patrick also highly valued them. Patrick's coworkers have expressed how they will deeply miss his expertise and friendship.

Patrick loved being a husband to Katie and a doting dad to Liam. Patrick is preceded in death by Owen L. White, Sr., his maternal grandfather; Beulah F. White, his maternal grandmother; Sharon Larkin, his paternal grandmother; and Elyse Shelton, his niece. Patrick is survived by his mother, Kristie Bonham, and his sister, Kayla Bonham; his father, Kevin Bonham, and wife Audrey; his paternal grandfather, Patrick Larkin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Sharon Parks; his sister-in-law, Jennifer Shelton and husband Trey, niece Kenley and nephew Fisher. Patrick is also deeply cherished and missed by a large extended family and numerous friends.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., we will gather at Yukon First Church of the Nazarene, 525 E Main Street in Yukon, to celebrate the life of a fine young man, who makes us say: "Ooohhh, what we wouldn't do to hear your delightful laughter once again"! Following the service there will be a dessert reception.
