Paul Arthur White

Paul Arthur White passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on February 26, 1953 in Oklahoma City, OK and spent most of his life in the area. Paul was a loving husband, father and Papa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Mary White. He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Rebecca (Becky) Cross White; daughters, Jamie Sauermann and husband Robert, Kellie Riley and husband Tom, and Laurie Burgess and husband Daniel; six beloved grandchildren: Preston, Ella and Avery Burgess, Ty and Cole Sauermann, and Olivia Riley; and brother Alan White.

Paul started working at the OKC Post Office after his graduation from Classen High School and was there until his retirement in 2008. He did take a short hiatus when he studied hard to become a mud engineer in the oil field, but returned to the post office after the oil bust of 1981.

Paul was an active and beloved member of the Church of Christ for over 58 years.

Paul played league baseball and playground soccer in grade school, and carried his passion for soccer into adulthood. He was a lightning quick goalkeeper on his men's and coed teams until injuries finally sidelined him for good. He loved coaching his wife, and all 3 of his daughters, sometimes juggling 2-3 teams at a time.  He always had a fascination with cars, from rebuilding engines to racing to helping others find the perfect match.

After retiring he loved having more time to spend with his family - especially his beloved grandchildren. He was known for corny jokes and always surprising the family with "one more dog", and he loved going through open houses, keeping up with friends on social media, and watching OSU basketball and football with Becky.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1pm at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon. A private interment of ashes will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
