Quincie Regina Whittington

Our dear Quincie, "Chicken", passed from this world into God's hands at 7:40 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024. Quincie gave up her brave struggle with cancer at her home in Autumn Ridge Apartments with her daughter Kimberly and good friend Diana by her side.

She was born Quincie Reginia Holder, daughter of QL and Dossie on September 26th, 1948, in Oklahoma City. "Chicken" went through Yukon schools and graduated from Yukon High School in 1966. She also graduated from Concord Beauty College. "Chicken" was a diehard Democrat, a Southern Baptist, loved to fish, was a wonderful cook, and was blessed with a brilliant green thumb. She could make any plant flourish.

Quincie was proceeded in death by her father QL; mother Dossie; baby sister Sheila; sister Betty Naehritz; and brother Randy. She is survived by her son Travis Whittington; daughter Kimberly Petrea and husband Troy; grandchildren Johnathan Whittington, Anna Whittington, and Ali Creed; great-grandchildren JJ Izzard, Bentley Clark, Owen Clark, Jaleah Skyy, and Olivia Clark; sisters Peggy Long and Elma Stallings; brother-in-law Jerry Stallings; brother "O" Williams; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved her dearly.

"Chicken" raised her children in Concord, NC, where she resided for 25 years. In the late 90's, she moved back to Yukon, the hometown she loved. Back in Yukon, she was a bright spot in our lives, always putting the concerns of others above herself. Over the past year, despite her personnel struggles with illness, Quincie taught us the lessons of courage and selflessness. We will lovingly remember her for these qualities.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank those of Frontier Hospice who so graciously assisted Quincie during this past year. Their services were a gift from God. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Frontier Hospice or Pets and People of Yukon.

Quincie's life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK. Interment will be held during a private ceremony at Yukon Cemetery at a later date.
