Ray Keesee, Sr.

Cecil Ray Keesee, Sr. passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Ray was born December 8, 1941, in Wanette, Oklahoma. On a blind date in high school, he met the love of his life, Fleisha Maryetta Anderson. They married in 1960 and later had three children. He was a much-loved provider, protector and peacemaker. Ray worked and retired from the Oklahoma City Police Department after 23 years of service.  He also worked security for Guaranty Bank in OKC. He was a sports enthusiast and in his later years, discovered new hobbies of acting, collecting, and singing.  He was a faith-filled man and an active member of the UM Church of the Good Shepherd where he enjoyed serving in many areas of ministry including missions abroad.

Ray is preceded in death by father, Jester Ray Keesee: mother, Dorothy Hanks: brother, David Hanks, and stepfather, Burl Hanks.

He is survived by his wife, Fleisha Keesee; children:  Cathy & Alan Childers, Ray & Mardi Keesee, and Cori & Randal McAlpin; grandchildren: Chris Keesee, Dustin Keesee, Dalton Childers, Carly Childers, Hayden McAlpin, Brooks Keesee, Zachary McAlpin, and Megan McAlpin; great-grandchildren:  Mason, Carter, Parker, Dylan, Norah, Ellis, Riley and Jaxon, and siblings:  Liz Christian, Venia Walker, and Gary Hanks.

A celebration of life service will be held at United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, Yukon, at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 31st, with a private interment at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, OK.
