Rebecca Ann Starr

Rebecca "Becky" Ann Starr was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 28th, 1942, to Arthur and Lorita Ritchie. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she started kindergarten at age 4. At 17, she graduated from Central High School where she was the majorette for the marching band.

Becky grew up alongside her big brother Alan Ritchie, who she always admired. He is the only one that still calls her Rebecca. They were very close and were baptized on the same day in spring of 1953 at the East Main Church of Christ. Her wedding was the first wedding he ever performed, as a minister, two weeks after his own wedding.

After marrying Hickory Starr Jr. in 1960, Becky had four children - Scott, Susan, Krista, and Kara. She worked nights when the kids were little at First National Bank in downtown OKC, co-owned Western Del with her parents, went to work for AMPI, and reached retirement age with FISERV.  She had a work ethic to be commended which she inherited from her mother. She worked hard to provide for her family and never gave excuses to anyone.

She faithfully attended the Del City Church of Christ, where she raised her children and made many lifelong friendships. Becky was a loving mother who always made her children her priority. She was a Cub Scout leader for her son Scott and led Brownies and Girl Scouts for her daughters and supported them through all their sporting events and choir activities throughout their childhood.

Along with her four children, Becky had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do was anything and everything with her family. She was a part of every event, every holiday, every birthday party, every graduation, and everything in between. If she could physically be there to celebrate her people, she would be there.  She was known for her bright "blingy" clothes, her "gift of gab", and her love for Christmas. Christmas in her home included a carefully chosen and wrapped gift for everyone from "Nana Clause". Everyone around her had to be ready to have their picture taken at any time - she loved being surrounded by pictures of her loved ones.

To know Becky was to love Becky and to be loved by Becky. She considered everybody she ever met, or who was connected with her on Facebook, to be her friend, including half of OC's campus who knew her through her grandchildren. She loved to talk (and talk and talk) with anybody around her and was lovingly referred to as a social butterfly and Miss Congeniality.

In the early morning hours of April 9, 2025, Becky died peacefully in her home surrounded by her three children, her dog, Daisy, and hundreds of angels.

Becky was proceeded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lorita Ritchie, and her daughter Susan Starr. Becky is survived by her brother Alan Ritchie and wife Janille. Children, Scott Starr, Krista Treat and husband Phillip, Kara Anderson and husband Troy. Grandchildren Brandyn Treat and wife Emily, Tori Saffell and husband Ross, Savannah Anderson, Samuel Anderson, and Emma Kremeier. Great grandchildren Judah and Jordan Saffell, and soon to be great granddaughter. Maternal aunt, Kay Villines and husband Charles, and paternal aunt, Uneeda Newton and husband Joe, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, great and all.

Becky's funeral will be held on Good Friday, April 18th, at 1:00 pm, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave, Yukon Ok 73099, with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
